WWE 13' Roster, Summer Slam 2012!

Tonight I'm attending my second live WWE Show and first PPV SUMMER SLAM at the Staples Center, L.A. I intend to take lots of pictures and hopefully The Undertaker Makes an appearance as well. THQ recently released the full roster for its WWE 13' game. I Cant wait to play that game seeing as there's is a new WWE *Attitude Era mode which replaces the Universe mode. The Attitude Era mode relives old story lines, and even its entire roster of the beloved late 90's era. That's all for now, will share summer slam pics later. -A.R.M.

Psi-Ops the best videogame EVER!

This blog entry will be more of a boasting rant than a review. One of my most favorite games of all time is Midways Psi-Ops: The Mindgate Conspiracy. I remember reading about this game in both Gameinformer and EGM back in 2003 prior its release in June of 2004. When I finally bought it (Used) a few months after its release I was in shock at how Midway perfectly integrated a fully third person adventurer balanced with platforming elements, super powers, and shooter elements. This game could have worked as either stand alone so the fact that you have an arsenal or psychic powers such as telekinesis, remote viewing, mind drain, mind control, pyrokenisis, ans aura view  makes you feel like a true video game version of Marvels Cable. In addition to the very diverse and upgradable psychic powers the game boasts a full arsenal of conventional shooter weapons such as grenades, machine guns, sniper riffles, pistols, and more.

The level designs were intuitive and very interactive with Nick's, the main characters, abilities. I remember having fun grabbing the weapons from the soldiers with telekinesis  then throwing them into giant spinning turbines or standing on a shard or metal while lifting it with telekinesis to access higher areas or just hover and shoot at people lol. The remote view allowed you to see ahead to impending threats and puzzels while mind control allowed you to take over the enemies minds to to tasks such as flip switches and cause diversions. I used to use to mind control the soldiers as snipers then have them jump to their deaths after I was done with them. :-P 

The game featured a simple co-op mode, concept art, bio-viewer, image and movie viewer, training simulations, Mortal Kombat game preview and more... Midway had years before they went under to do a sequel but never did. Games in later years that were inspired by Spi-Ops such as Prototype, Infamous, and even Bio Shock. I would play this game all the time on my ps2 and first gen backwards compatible PS3 until it went yellow light of death on me, now its just sits in my game collection until they make a sequel.

Whenever I play a video game I usually can go with either extreme of really loving it or hating it and I remember loving this game from the jump along with a few others such as  Rare's Jetforce Gemini, and Eidos's Blood Omen2 , both in which needs to be remade or given a sequels as well. -A.R.M.

 

Superboy Prime Rampage, my most shocking moment in comics

I can recall reading the much acclaimed DC Comics Infinite Crisis #4 in (2005) and being literally shocked into suspense when the Superboy of Earth Prime went on a bloody rampage/ killing spree. The fight started with him attacking the current Superboy Conner Kent because he (Prime) didn't feel Connor represented the namesake to the fullest. After beating Conner to a pulp the Teen Titans (current reserved, and past), Doom Patrol, and I believe JSA members as well all showed up to back Conner. All the heroes attached the renegade Superboy still unaware of his temper and power level when he states "he started this" meaning Conner. At that moment, Pantha, a former Titan who is cat-like in appearance charges at SBP and calls him "a stupid kid" then SBP prime yells "Im Not Stupid" while punching Pantha's head clean off her shoulders! The blood splatters, the gore, and the way you see her head separating from her body along with the other characters expressions just really cemented the shock value of this scene. Phil Jimenez did an excellent job on the artwork in this series by the way. Ive seen movies that didn't shock me into so much intensity like these panels did. That moment will a always stand out in my head as the most shocking ive ever read and seen in a comic book. To sum up the rest of that scene Wildibeast was punched through  stomach, Risk had his right arm ripped off, and Bushido was heat visioned in half. There are many other comic book moments that shocked me that I will eventually talk about but this scene will always stand out to me. -A.R.M.

First Blog, Galaxy Note 10.1 Tablet

This is my first blog post of many to come on Blogger, most of my posts on here will be focusing on my opinions and insights on various topics concerning art, comic books, technology, collectibles and more. I decided to make this first post about something that can effect all aspects of my interests technology wise. I'm currently an avid android user currently owning a Samsung Galaxy S2 phone and Galaxy Tab 10.1 tablet.  As far as an art and media friendly device goes Samsung has been generous enough to provide vibrant amoled pixel displays and more than enough apps, but now more ever Samsung has developed a larger version of its Galaxy Note phone in tablet form with a Wacom style "S-Pen" with Various levels of pressure for open ended not taking, art rendering, and editing on the go. The back of the pen even has an eraser function and the tablet will be shipped with Photoshop Touch. Aside from the art aspect this makes a great digital comic book reader, movie player, and portfolio viewer for when I have client meetings.  I'm looking forward to its release sometime this year which is still undetermined.
